Terms of Service
Last updated:
These Terms govern your use of the Leemo website, apps, and services. By creating a Leemo account and using our ride, courier, food, shop, or marketplace services, you agree to use them lawfully and in good faith, and to the fare, delivery, and cancellation terms shown to you at the time of each booking or order.
The full text below is provided in English. If any translation of this page differs from the English version, the English version applies.
1. Who we are and what these Terms cover
Leemo ("Leemo", "we", "us", "our") operates the Leemo website, mobile apps, and related services (together, the "Platform"). Our registered office is at 501, 1/1 Thimbirigasyaya Road, Colombo 00500, Sri Lanka.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Leemo. They apply whenever you browse the Platform, create an account, or use any Leemo service — including Ride, Courier, Food, Grocery, Shop, Marketplace, Wallet, and Saloot messaging.
By creating an account or using the Platform you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
2. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to create a Leemo account. Some services may carry additional age or identity requirements, which will be shown to you before you use them.
Your account is verified against your mobile number. You are responsible for keeping your device and one-time passcodes secure, and for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us immediately if you believe your account has been used without your permission.
You agree to give us accurate, current information and to keep it up to date. We may suspend or close accounts that provide false information, are used fraudulently, or are used in breach of these Terms.
3. How Leemo works
Leemo is a technology platform that connects you with independent drivers, courier partners, restaurants, grocery stores, shops, and marketplace sellers ("Partners"). Unless we say otherwise for a specific service, the ride, delivery, meal, or goods you receive are supplied by the Partner, and Leemo facilitates the booking, payment, tracking, and support.
Partners are independent businesses or individuals and are not employees or agents of Leemo. We verify Partner identity and set service standards, but we do not control how a Partner drives, prepares food, or fulfils an order beyond those standards.
4. Bookings, orders, and cancellations
When you request a ride, courier, food, grocery, or shop order, you are making an offer to purchase that service. A booking is confirmed when a Partner accepts it and you see confirmation in the app.
You may cancel a booking or order in the app. Where a Partner has already accepted, is en route, or has started preparing your order, a cancellation fee may apply. Any applicable cancellation fee is shown to you before you confirm the cancellation.
Partners may decline or cancel a request — for example, if an item is unavailable or the pickup location cannot be reached. If that happens, you will not be charged for the cancelled service and any amount already taken will be refunded to your original payment method or Leemo Wallet.
5. Fares, fees, and commission — our transparency commitment
Every fare, delivery fee, service fee, and applicable tax is calculated by Leemo and shown to you before you confirm a booking or order. We do not estimate prices in your browser or change them after you have confirmed, except where you change the request (for example, adding a stop, extending waiting time, or amending an order) — in which case the updated price is shown before it applies.
Leemo charges Partners the lowest platform commission in the market. The commission rate that applies to a Partner is shown to that Partner in their Partner agreement and on every trip or order statement, with no hidden deductions. Consumers are never charged a commission on top of the price shown.
Prices are in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) unless stated otherwise. Where a Partner sets its own product prices (restaurants, grocery stores, shops, and marketplace sellers), those prices are set by the Partner and shown to you as listed.
6. Payments and Leemo Wallet
You can pay by cash (where offered), card, or Leemo Wallet. Card payments are processed by licensed third-party payment providers; Leemo does not store your full card details.
Leemo Wallet is a stored-value balance that you can use to pay for Leemo services. Wallet balances are not bank deposits, do not earn interest, and can be withdrawn or refunded only as described in the app and in accordance with applicable law.
If a payment fails or is reversed, you remain responsible for the amount owed, and we may restrict your account until it is settled.
7. Refunds and disputes
If something goes wrong with a ride, delivery, or order — a missing item, a wrong order, a trip that did not take place — report it from the item's details page in your Activity tab as soon as possible, and in any case within 48 hours. We will investigate and, where appropriate, issue a full or partial refund to your original payment method or Leemo Wallet.
Refund decisions are made in good faith based on the information available to us, including trip and order data recorded by the Platform.
8. Marketplace
Leemo Marketplace lets users list items for sale and contact other users about listings. Leemo is not a party to any sale between users and does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or availability of items listed.
You are responsible for the accuracy of any listing you post, for having the right to sell the item, and for complying with all applicable laws. Prohibited items include, without limitation, illegal goods, weapons, counterfeit products, stolen property, and anything that infringes another person's rights. We may remove listings and suspend accounts that breach these rules.
9. Saloot messaging
Saloot lets you message and call your driver, delivery partner, a store, or other users without sharing your personal phone number. You agree to use Saloot respectfully and only for purposes connected to your use of Leemo. Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or unsolicited commercial messages are not permitted.
We may review reported messages to investigate safety or abuse concerns, as described in our Privacy Policy.
10. Your conduct
When using the Platform you agree not to:
- use it for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms;
- harass, threaten, discriminate against, or endanger any Partner, user, or Leemo staff member;
- damage a Partner's vehicle or property, or leave a vehicle in an unreasonable state;
- request delivery of prohibited, dangerous, or illegal items;
- create multiple accounts, share your account, or use another person's account without permission;
- abuse promotions, referral credits, or refund processes;
- interfere with the Platform's security, scrape its data, or reverse-engineer its software.
Breach of these rules may lead to suspension or permanent closure of your account, and we may report unlawful behaviour to the relevant authorities.
11. Safety
Every driver and delivery partner is identity-verified before they can accept a request. Trips and deliveries are tracked live, and you can share your trip status with a trusted contact. In an emergency, always contact the Sri Lanka Police (119) or the emergency ambulance service (1990) first, then report the incident to us.
12. Intellectual property
The Leemo name, logo, apps, website, and all content we create are owned by Leemo or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform without our written permission.
By posting content on the Platform (for example, reviews, marketplace listings, or photos), you grant Leemo a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content in connection with operating and promoting the Platform.
13. Availability and changes to the Platform
We aim to keep the Platform available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. We may add, change, or withdraw features, services, or coverage areas at any time. Where a change materially affects you, we will give reasonable notice through the app or by email.
14. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Sri Lankan law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, Leemo's total liability to you in connection with any booking or order is limited to the amount you paid for that booking or order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, business, or data.
Services are supplied by independent Partners, and any claim relating to the quality of a ride, meal, or goods should be raised with us so we can help resolve it with the Partner. Your rights under the Consumer Affairs Authority Act and other applicable consumer protection laws are not affected by these Terms.
15. Suspension and termination
You can close your account at any time from the Profile page or by contacting us. We may suspend or close your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use presents a safety, fraud, or legal risk. Where possible we will tell you why and how to appeal.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including payments owed, intellectual property, liability, and governing law) continue to apply after your account is closed.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when the current version took effect. For material changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Platform after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute that we cannot resolve through our support process will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Colombo, Sri Lanka, without prejudice to your right to bring a complaint before the Consumer Affairs Authority or any other competent regulator.
